A year on, head of FSC reflects of KSF affair

It's a year to the day since Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander Isle of Man closed its doors to customers.

Twelve months later, after an aborted attempt to bring in a Manx government 'Scheme of Arrangement', followed by the activation of the Depositors' Compensation Scheme, the Island can reflect on a traumatic period when it was the target of great deal of anger from KSF depositors.

Chief Executive of the Financial Supervision Commission John Aspden says lessons have been learned, one of them being that international agreements reached before a crisis breaks, can be worth little afterwards:
