Harvester moved for maintenance

by isleofman.com 7th October 2009

The wreck of the Solway Harvester has been moved across Douglas Harbour.

She will remain there for a few days while work is carried out on her hull.

The aim is to guarantee she can continue to float at high water and, at the same time, some of the original equipment is being put back on board.

The Solway Harvester is being kept in the harbour until any possible further court proceedings in Scotland have been concluded.

All seven crewmen drowned when the Scottish scallop dredger sank off the east coast of the Isle of Man in 2000.
