Staff shocked as firm goes into receivership

Twenty-one staff are facing an uncertain future after the Island convenience store where they work went into receivership.

Nearbuy Ltd runs Birch Hill and Ballachrink stores in Onchan, as well as the main Nearbuy in Westmoreland Road, Douglas.

Nearbuy is owned by Brian Isaacs whose former company, wholesaler HE Richards, went into administration earlier this year.

KPMG has been appointed as receiver.
