Dyslexia expert shares her knowledge with teachers

Teachers from primary and secondary schools around the Island are attending a one-day conference today, aimed at improving the education of dyslexic children.

Ten per cent of the population has some form of dyslexia, which means most teachers can expect to have at least one dyslexic pupil in their class.

Judy Capener is a highly regarded consultant in the field and has been invited by the Manx Dyslexia Association to give today's presentation at Keyll Darree.

She will be introducing the latest research and offering teachers a range of strategies and materials to improve youngsters' reading, writing and spelling.

Judy hopes every delegate will leave with some new ideas:
