Baines told truth from the outset - defence

by isleofman.com 6th October 2009

The jury in the Trevor Baines trial has been hearing the summary from the defence.

Yesterday, the prosecution closed its case and asked the seven jurors to consider whether the Isle of Man millionaire knew or suspected he was involved in criminal conduct.

If so, the Crown said, he should be found guilty of money laundering.

James Davis was in court for Manx Radio this morning (play audio file):

Both Mr Baines and his wife Wendy are also charged with false accounting.

The couple, of Africa House, in Woodbourne Road, Douglas, deny all the charges.
