Tynwald to debate lease

The chief minister has confirmed the former Lord Street bus station site in Douglas will be discussed in Tynwald later this month.

The site has been vacant since the decaying building at its centre was demolished and replaced by a 'temporary' car park.

It seems the long-running saga surrounding its future development may be moving towards a solution, as the terms of a 999 year lease are to be debated.

However, on Mandate today Tony Brown sounded a note of caution, saying there was still a long way to go before work could begin:
