by isleofman.com 2nd October 2009

Manx cycling star Jonny Bellis remains in an induced coma in a Florence hospital, two weeks after he suffered serious head injuries in a scooter accident, but there's hope that may change in the next few days.

Team GB spokeswoman Fran Millar says he is in a stable condition and doctors at the CTO Hospital are monitoring his progress with a view to bringing him out of the coma.

The 21-year-old crashed his scooter into a wall on the way back to his Tuscan base in the early hours of September 19th.

He was left with skull fractures and bruising to the brain.
