A team of athletic postmen from the Isle of Man smelt sweet success when they took part in the 48th annual Postman’s Walk in London.
Employees Cal Partington, Rosemarie Crellin, Richard Creer and retired postman John Cannell completed the popular walk in both the ladies and men’s teams categories.
Cal won the ladies race beating the championship record time by three minutes with Rosemarie coming in a fantastic second place.
In the men’s race, Richard and John came 12th and 13th place respectively.
The walk started from Mount Pleasant Sorting Office in Clerkenwell, London and saw competitors from various mail centres across the United Kingdom taking part including Birmingham, York, Edinburgh, Rochester, Tonbridge and Brighouse in West Yorkshire.
Bill Chacksfield, Chief Executive of Isle of Man Post Office, said: "I congratulate the team for doing so well.
"They certainly did an excellent job in flying the flag for Isle of Man Post Office and the Island itself.
"For one of our competitors to have beaten the record is tremendous and I would like to thank the whole team for participating in this event during their spare time, it shows great dedication to Isle of Man Post Office."
