Father felt 'isolated' by swine flu episode

There's a plea for understanding today, from the father of a young child who is thought to have suffered from swine flu.

The boy fell ill last week and has been off school since, in line with advice from the Island’s Public Health Directorate and Department of Education.

But his father, who doesn't want to be named, says it's a very isolating experience because of attitudes towards the virus.

He told Manx Radio when other people found out his son was sick, he almost felt like an outcast:
