Clarkson advocates ask supporters for information

by isleofman.com 2nd October 2009

Today is the closing date for the submissions of views to be considered when the Langness footpath inquiry resumes later this month.

They must reach the Highways Division of the Department of Transport by close of business this afternoon, ahead of the inquiry continuing on October 12.

The paths became the focus of a bitter dispute between ramblers and BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, after he diverted a section of the path around his house, to protect his privacy.

Mr Clarkson's legal team has taken the unusual step of sending a message to members of a Facebook group set up in support of him.

Advocates say the kind of information they would find useful would include personal experiences of seeing 'private property' signs at Langness, and requests to carry out activities on the land.
