Brothers fought in the street

by isleofman.com 1st October 2009

A spilt glass of red wine led to two Ramsey brothers fighting each other in the street, one dressed only in his underwear.

Twenty-one-year-old Gary Shea Gaines and Michael Shane Neal, aged 22, admitted using provoking behaviour when they appeared before High Bailiff Michael Moyle.

Jane Hughes, prosecuting, said at about 8pm on August 30, the two men were in a flat in Parliament Street when a row broke out.

One of them had knocked the wine glass onto a white carpet, and an argument ensued.

During a fight inside the flat, a fishtank was broken and both men sustained cuts to their feet before the incident spilled out onto the street, where concerned passers-by called the police.

When officers arrived, both men were abusive.

They were arrested and taken hospital for treatment.

Fining Gaines ?550 and Neal ?350, Mr Moyle said the argument got out of hand because it had been fuelled by alcohol.
