Meeting will air 'distributor' road concerns

by isleofman.com 1st October 2009

A public meeting in Peel this evening will discuss a road through the Ballawattleworth Estate which, it's feared, could become a shortcut for traffic between the coast and Poortown Road.

The requisition meeting has been called by Captain of the Parish John Kennaugh, and will take place at Peel AFC from 7pm.

On the agenda is Oak Road, which it's claimed, will be turned into a 'distributor' road under plans by the Department of Transport.

Organisers say they are not certain whether any political member from the DoT will be able to attend, as Minister Anderson and member David Quirk are both currently on leave.
