A bid to make the Manx budget more inclusive, transparent and understandable is how an MHK is describing his attempts to reform the processes involved.
Rushen member Juan Watterson has launched a consultation document to assess views of colleagues and the public.
Earlier this year he was given leave to introduce a private member's bill which he hopes will lead to budget proposals being open to public and parliamentary debate before they are presented to Tynwald.
Mr Watterson says the Island trails the world in terms of scrutiny of the budget process and believes it's worth assessing how the system can be improved:
