DTL looks at 'bigger picture'

by isleofman.com 1st October 2009

The Department of Tourism and Leisure says the loss of TT and cycling coverage to a relatively small number of ITV4 viewers in the Isle of Man is unfortunate, but not a great setback in terms of 'the bigger picture'.

Yesterday it was confirmed that a technological reshuffle by ITV means some of the 20 per cent of TV viewers in the Island who don't have satellite systems will no longer be able to receive the channel, or ITV3.

Chief operating officer for the DTL Nick Black says it's disappointing, but millions of people all over the world will still see North One Television's coverage of the TT (play audio file):

It has been confirmed that North One Television is looking at the possibility of negotiating deals for highlights of the TT races to be broadcast by the BBC and the Discovery Channel.
