For the first time in several years, the Isle of Man Swimming Association is holding an annual dinner to celebrate the achievements of the Island's swimmers.
One-time Olympic champion Adrian Moorhouse has been announced as the guest speaker at the event, which takes place on 22nd October at the Hilton Hotel.
After his triumph in the 1988 Seoul Games, Adrian Moorhouse went on to find success as a BBC sports commentator and businessman.
He is now the Managing Director of Lane4, a professional services firm focused on organisational performance, leadership development and executive coaching.
On the afternoon of the dinner, Adrian is also set to give an informal business workshop, organised by the Isle of Man Branch of the Institute of Directors, at the Sefton Hotel.
The dinner is expected to be very well-attended and a great opportunity for swimmers of all levels and abilities to share their experiences.
The Isle of Man Open Water Swimming Club, which has grown steadily since forming earlier in the year, will also be hoping to attract new recruits.
A spokesperson says, "In 2009, we have been blessed with some outstanding performances by our swimmers, which have included British Junior records by 15 year old Grant Halsall, who also won a silver medal at the European Youth Olympics.
"In addition, Olivia Rawlinson won four golds at the Island Games, at which Grant also won three golds.
"Overall, the team achieved 46 finalists, 23 Isle of Man records, five Island Games records, seven gold medals, six silver medals and three bronze medals, finishing second only to the Faroes.
"We want to celebrate this success and all our swimmers in what has been a fantastic year for Isle of Man swimming."
