It's National Retune Day!

by isleofman.com 30th September 2009

Television viewers in the Isle of Man who are having problems with their signal by lunchtime today are being reminded of the need to retune their sets.

The Freeview service is being upgraded in about a fortnight's time, and all users of the service will need to retune their TVs to keep getting a signal.

It's being stressed that needs to be done today, as engineers are expected to have finished work to the system by lunchtime.

The technical changes will mean those using Freeview will be able to receive high-definition TV in the future.

Jason Roberts reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

Those behind the changes say it will mean more homes are able to receive Channel 5, although some viewers may not be able to watch ITV3 or ITV4.

Retuning equipment is said to be straightforward, but there is a national helpline available to those who are struggling.

Those having any difficulty can visit the website tvretune.co.uk or call the helpline on 08456 05 11 22.

But there is a warning against retuning before lunchtime as you may find some channels won't be available.
