Public health officials in the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man are awaiting test results, following the death of a teenage girl, hours after she was given the new jab to prevent cervical cancer.
The 14-year-old from Coventry is thought to have suffered an extreme reaction to the Ceravix jab, which is being offered to all girls between the ages of 12 and 18.
Although consent forms have been signed by parents on the Island, no jabs have been given yet.
In the wake of the news from the UK, a series of meetings offering children and parents more information on the HPV vaccine, has been posponed.
However, director of public health Dr Parameswaran Kishore is advising parents not to withdraw consent until more is known about what caused the girl's death:
