Manslaughter trial date set

The trial of a Department of Transport manual worker charged with manslaughter has been scheduled for spring next year.

Sixty-two year-old Brian Tomlinson, of Glen Vine is accused of manslaughter by gross negligence in connection with an incident during the preparations for the 2007 TT.

The charge relates to the death of visiting biker Alan Ronald Osborne, from Rochester in Kent, who was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a crash near roadworks at the Veranda on May 14 that year.

A court today (Tuesday) has ruled the case will start on April 7.
