Skillicorn wins fell league

by isleofman.com 28th September 2009

Simon Skillicorn made sure of retaining his Rentokil Fell League title when he took a comfortable victory in Saturday's Buchanan and Pitts-sponsored James Coulson Laxey Fell Race.

He held off the challenges of Tom Cringle and Ian Gale to win by almost six minutes, in a race held in beautiful, sunny conditions around the 8.5 mile course, which started and finished at Glen Roy Farm.

Sarah Curphy was the first lady home, ahead of Rose Hooton and Justine Bowen.

Racing kicks off again in two weeks with the first round of the Isle of Man Bank Winter Hill League, held again at Glen Roy, on October 10th, starting at 1.30pm.
