Island roads surveyed

by isleofman.com 27th September 2009

Scanning the Island’s roads now with hi-tech equipment will save money in the long run, says Transport Minister David Anderson.

A project to survey the Island’s major roads is underway, with a specialised truck moving slowly over highways scanning the foundations.

It will reveal how much wear and tear the road can take - information which will allow the department to target specific areas for repairs.

Mr Anderson says it’s something that takes place regularly.
