Island 'well prepared' to deal with swine flu

Public Health officials are reassuring parents after suspected swine flu cases were found in primary schools in the Isle of Man.

They say they were expecting the illness to crop up as the new term got under way, and the virus re-emerged during the Autumn.

Children showing symptoms are being excluded for school for nine days, and parents are being told to seek medical advice by telephone if they think their youngsters might have the H1N1 virus.

Director of Public Health Dr Parameswaran Kishore says the Island is well prepared to tackle the illness:
