Tom McRae to Play Gig in Peel

by isleofman.com 24th September 2009

In another coup for Triskel Promotions, the team behind the Kaiser Chiefs' recent Villa Marina show, singer-songwriter Tom McRae is set to play Peel's Centenary Centre.

The show, which takes place on Saturday 24th October, will feature local support from Steph Gomaa and Hannah Layhe.

Tom McRae is one of the UK's most respected singer-songwriters, whose haunting melodies and poetic lyrics have won him a devoted following.

McRae's eponymous debut album received several major award nominations and was followed by three more critically acclaimed releases.

Now, having secured a signing with major Indie label Cooking Vinyl, there is the promise of a double album early in 2010.

His debut on the Island, sure to be a very special affair, is another boost for Triskel Promotions after the rapid sell-out of local hero Davy Knowles' show at the Gaiety Theatre (12th October).

Director Lenny Conroy comments, "This is a bit of a selfish concert for me as I really admire this guy - so much so that when I first saw him a couple of years back at the Limelight in Belfast, I was so taken with him that I extended my stay and hopped on a bus to Dublin to catch another night!"

An Evening with Tom McRae (supported by Steph Gomaa and Hannah Layhe) takes place on 24th October 2009 at the Centenary Centre, Peel.

Tickets, priced at just ?17, will be on sale from Monday 28th September at Celtic Gold (Peel), Shakti Man (Ramsey) and Thompson Travel (Port Erin).
