The police officer who saved a man from drowning off Douglas at the weekend says he was just doing his duty.
Twenty-three-year-old PC David Schumacher was called to Loch Promenade in the early hours of Sunday morning after a man was reported to be in distress in the water.
The constable only joined the force in January this year but he's no stranger to dangerous situations having served with the armed forces in Iraq.
PC Schumacher says that with a life in danger he didn't give his own safety a second thought:
