Manx2.com Helps Ticket Change Passengers

by isleofman.com 21st September 2009

Manx2.com is leading the way in helping customers who need to change their ticket bookings.

The Air User Council (AUC), a leading passenger watchdog, has called for all airlines to allow a 24-hour free change period for passengers who have made an online booking in case they need to amend any of their ticket purchase details.

According to the AUC, a number of airlines or operators who will charge a fee of over ?100 to amend a surname or spelling error.

Since it began operations in July 2006, Manx2.com has offered a 24-hour period in which its customers may amend bookings free of charge.

The AUC is calling for the changes following what it calls a large increase in complaints being received from passengers who have been forced to book online, rather than through a call-centre to take advantage of lower fares, but system glitches have forced errors to be made.

Manx2.com Chairman, Noel Hayes, commented, "We understand that innocent mistakes will occasionally be made when booking flights online, and it’s only fair that there is a system that allows passengers to rectify genuine errors for free within an agreed timeframe.

“Since our launch over three years ago, Manx2.com has been pleased to rectify any booking mistakes notified to us within 24 hours and so I wholeheartedly support the AUC’s calls for this to be made an industry-standard practice.”
