by isleofman.com 20th September 2009

Manx cyclist Jonny Bellis is in a stable condition in an Italian hospital this morning (Sunday).

The 21 year-old had initially been classed as critical following a scooter accident in Italy yesterday in Florence.

Bellis sustained serious head injuries in the accident. It’s believed he was driving back to his apartment at the time.

Family members of Bellis left the Island for Italy on Saturday morning.

Bellis, a member of the Saxo Bank team, had been due to compete in the Road World Championships which start in Switzerland on Wednesday.
