A call for all children to be made to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle on open roads has been met with criticism by the local cycling association.
The suggestion came from the Association of Paediatric Emergency Medicine in the United Kingdom, whose members voted three to one in favour of the change, to protect young cyclists.
However, Steve Shimmin of the Isle of Man Cycling Association says such a law would effectively be unenforceable:
