Young guitar phenomenon Davy Knowles (pictured) is set to return to the Isle of Man for a special concert at the Gaiety Theatre on Monday 12th October 2009.
The concert has been organised by Triskel Promotions - hot on the heels of their sell-out Kaiser Chiefs show at the Villa Marina - in association with Running Media Group.
Although billed as 'Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam', the line-up no longer features Ross Doyle (drums) and Adam Jones (bass), the band members having gone their separate ways in January this year.
Throughout an extensive summer tour in the States, which has included opening shows for Joe Satriani's new band Chickenfoot, Davy has been performing with three Seattle musicians - PK on bass, Steven Barci on drums and Ty Bailie on keyboards.
The Isle of Man gig will be the European album launch for the group's Peter Frampton-produced CD 'Coming Up For Air', which saw a limited US release in June this year, and the first chance for for residents to get a copy of the critically acclaimed disc.
The show also marks one of only two dates that Davy is scheduled to play in Europe this year (the other being at the Borderline in London on October 7th), before he heads to Australia to play the One Movement For Music festival.
2009 has been a momentous year for Davy, whose US shows, which have included support slots for Eric Burdon, REO Speedwagon and Lynyrd Skynyrd, have won him huge acclaim with Stateside audiences.
Chickenfoot's drummer, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, surprised Davy onstage in North Carolina, strumming his new PRS guitar while it was still around his neck; while just last week, Pearl Jam's guitarist Mike McCready jammed with Davy at a Seattle show.
Earlier this year Satriani himself called Davy his "favourite modern day bluesman" in an interview with the Sunday Times.
Lenny Conroy from Triskel Promotions said he is very proud of Davy's success.
"I've found the audience's reaction to Davy's music breath-taking over the past few years and feel privileged that the bands has singled out the Isle of Man for the launch," he comments.
"It seems appropriate and a particularly nice gesture to his longest standing fans, who've followed him from the start."
Tickets, limited to four per person, will be available from 10am this Saturday (19th September), priced at ?14, either in person from the Welcome Centre in Douglas, or by phone through the Villa Marina Booking Office (600555).
