Fatal Accident at Ballaquayle

A man died in a road traffic accident in Douglas on Wednesday night.

It happened at around five past nine at the junction between Ballaquayle Road and Woodbourne Road . . and involved a green coloured Jeep Cherokee and a white and blue Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle.

Both had been travelling on Ballaquayle Road when they collided head on

The motorcyclist, a 40 year old from Douglas, received fatal injuries

The section of roads around the junction were closed for some seven hours whilst the Police carried out an investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or thinks they may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the incident, is asked to contact the Road Policing Unit at Police headquarters on 631 212.
