Island's link with murder investigation

by isleofman.com 16th September 2009

Police in Essex are appealing to Isle of Man residents for information in a murder inquiry.

It follows the questioning of a 54-year-old man from the Island who has been released on bail on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and perverting the course of justice.

Detectives are investigating the disappearance of 41-year-old Paul Duckenfield, a year after his last sighting in Essex.

He lived with his wife and two children in Portugal, but returned alone to the United Kingdom on September 15 last year.

Police remain convinced he has been murdered despite not locating his body.

Detective Inspector Martin Pasmore is a member of the investigation team (play audio file):

A 46-year-old north Essex man was arrested last October on suspicion of Mr Duckenfield's murder and remains on police bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigation team on 01279 641188 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
