'There may be trouble ahead,' warns Union chief

by isleofman.com 16th September 2009

The Negotiations Officer for the Prospect Union has warned there could be a winter of discontent looming on the Island.

Angela Moffatt was speaking after 95 per cent of Union members voted to reject the Government's zero per cent pay offer.

Prospect says it wants to re-open negotiations with the Civil Service Commission.

Mrs Moffatt says there would have to be a separate ballot for any industrial action but this would be a last resort and she still hopes there will be some positive dialogue with the employers.
