Irish decision will have little impact on Manx event

Next year's Rally Isle of Man shouldn't suffer, despite being axed as part of Ireland's premier rally series, the Tarmac championship.

The Jim Clark Rally in Scotland has also been dropped, as the championship goes from eight to six rounds due to the economic downturn.

Manx Radio's rally correspondent Chris Boyde says due to the small number of world rally cars involved in the Irish competition, the status of Rally Isle of Man should be largely unaffected.

And he doesn't believe the decision is a reflection of the Isle of Man event:
