Day two of Baines trial

by isleofman.com 16th September 2009

It's the second day of the trial of Isle of Man millionaire Trevor Baines and his wife Wendy, at which the prosecution will continue outlining its case to the jury at Douglas Courthouse.

Yesterday, the court was told how Mr Baines allegedly arranged the transfer of $150 million to banks in the Isle of Man, which were the proceeds of a large scale fraud on United States investors.

Sixty-eight-year-old Mr Baines, of Africa House in Douglas, denies charges of money laundering and false accounting.

Fifty-year-old Mrs Baines denies a charge of false accounting.
