'Courage of soldier will help services charities'

Stories of bravery and heroism in Afghanistan are inspirational in showing the public the hard and difficult work carried out by Britain's armed forces.

That's the view of Major Charles Wilson of the Royal British Legion, after hearing about Lieutenant James Adamson, the Manx soldier who won the Military Cross at the weekend.

The 24-year-old charged Taliban fighters to save his comrades, and was forced to use his bayonet after he ran out of ammunition.

Major Wilson says his courage is inspirational, and helps charities here to care for servicemen returning from the frontlines:
