Children's Centre Offers Free Trial of Facilities

by isleofman.com 14th September 2009

Try before you buy is the message to parents looking for high quality childcare following the modernisation of facilities at The Isle of Man Children’s Centre.

The charity has just unveiled a new complex at 94 Woodbourne Road, Douglas – which has created improved play areas for youngsters.

It’s also provided the IOMCC with the opportunity to offer immediate free trial sessions for anyone considering registering their child in the Nursery or After School Club.

Rachel Staley, Head of Early Years and Playwork at the Centre, said the modernised facilities would provide better use of existing space and greater flexibility for those using the nursery and after school facilities.

“This is great news for parents who are currently looking for high quality childcare and we are delighted to be offering a free trial for parents who want to introduce their children to The Children’s Centre,” said Rachel.

She added that the Complex now included a new lay-by at the front of the building, making it easier and safer to drop off and pick up children.

The After School Club runs out of school hours every day during term time for children aged four to eleven: a wide range of activities are provided so they can let off steam and play with friends.

The Centre also offers a pick-up service from many local primary schools.

The Nursery, meanwhile, takes youngsters from birth up to five years old and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

As the IOMCC is a registered charity, any profits made from the After School Club and Nursery go towards other charitable projects run by the Children’s Centre.

For information about places, parents should call the Isle of Man Children's Centre on 676076 or email Rachel Staley at rachelstaley@iomcc.org.im
