Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left needing hospital treatment for a head injury in a fight on Douglas promenade.

The Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team say a disturbance took place at the entrance to a building in Palace Terrace on Queens Promenade early on Saturday morning.

They say just before midnight, a group of six or seven were involved in an altercation - five men have been arrested and are assisting police with enquiries.

If you have any information about the incident, you can contact police on 631212 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
