There'll be a lot of rot talked at Laxey Glen Garden's this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
A group of 21 local residents are being trained in the black art of home-composting, including what material to use, how to mix it and how to avoid problems.
The 'Master Composters' will then be encouraged to get out into the community and 'cascade' their knowledge and training throughout the Island - by giving demonstrations, talks and writing articles.
The initiative is run in the UK by the charity Garden Organics and has been sponsored by the Department of Local Government and the Environment working with Zero Waste Mann.
Head of Waste Management at DLGE, John Wrigley, says they want to help everyone to improve their skills in composting their green waste.
