Inspector to explain inquiry procedure

by isleofman.com 11th September 2009

Contentious proposals to expand the Tesco store in Douglas will be the subject of a pre-inquiry meeting today.

If approved, the company's plans would create up to 250 new jobs.

However, there have been concerns that such an expansion would jeopardise some smaller retail businesses in the Island.

The inquiry itself is due to start in November, and today's meeting will give the inspector in charge a chance to explain how the evidence will be presented and allow interested parties to address related issues.

Start time and venue for today's meeting: 10am at the Strathallan Suite in Douglas.
