DoT says 'sorry' to motorists

Transport Minister David Anderson is apologising for yesterday’s traffic chaos in North Douglas.

Local MHKs Bill Henderson and John Houghton complained after long tailbacks around Governor's Hill and Willaston left drivers fuming.

Mr Anderson says the problem was two sets of traffic lights failing at the same time, made worse by the sheer volume of traffic on the roads, and roadworks.

He says the faults have now been put right and there is light at the end of the tunnel:
