Barclays Wealth is helping support one local man’s efforts to raise ?5,000 for the charity, Help for Heroes.
Stephen Brew, who is originally from Jurby, serves with 230 Squadron of the RAF and is hoping to raise ?5,000 for the charity which assists wounded servicemen and women in all the armed forces.
Stephen is taking part in the gruelling Tough Guy Challenge in January to help raise funds for Help for Heroes and is training hard.
The challenge, which is held at the end of January each year, consists of a six mile cross-country run followed by a punishing assault course including underwater tunnels, a 40 foot vertical wall climb, swamps and burning bales of hay!
Greg Ellison, Managing Director of Barclays Private Clients International, said, "We were delighted to be able to help Stephen in his fundraising efforts for Help for Heroes.
"It is a great cause which is making a huge difference to the lives of injured servicemen and women.
"I would like to wish Stephen the best of luck for all his fundraising efforts over the coming months especially the Tough Guy Challenge."
A music night and ceili was also organised at the Sulby Glen Hotel this month to boost Stephen’s fundraising efforts.
