Local airline Manx2.com says it's managing to avoid most of the problems faced by other airlines at Ronaldsway Airport.
The work on the runway extension has meant instrument landing systems used by pilots in poor conditions have changed, which has resulted in delays.
The situation will revert to its previous state once the project has been completed, meaning that on the vast majority of occasions all operators will be able to get into the airport as usual.
The current problem affects larger aircraft which have to make a specific approach, but Manx2.com chairman Noel Hayes says the smaller planes used by his company aren't affected:
