Cayman MD praises Isle of Man's 'stability'

The Isle of Man is well-placed to attract investors seeking real stability in an offshore jursdiction.

That's the view of Ian Bancroft, the managing director of Cayman National Bank in Douglas.

The Cayman Islands' government is facing a multi-million pound deficit and possible bankruptcy, as a result of the global economic downturn hitting its financial services and tourism industries.

Mr Bancroft believes the funding crisis will be short-lived and the Caribbean haven will maintain its position as the world's biggest hedge fund venue.

But he believes two factors may have dented the Cayman's long-term attraction:
