'Parks for All' campaign collects signatures

Dog walkers unhappy at the ban on walking their pets in parks, squares and gardens in Douglas, have been collecting signatures for a petition, in Strand Street.

earlier this year Douglas Corporation invoked by-laws barring dogs from its public open spaces and instead created a designated dog exercise area in Noble's Park.

But many owners are unhappy, as the park is not within walking distance of their homes.

Annabel Storm, her Dalmation Oakley and several supporters braved the rain to promote their 'Parks for All' campaign this afternoon.

She says walking round the streets is just not the same, as larger animals need the freedom of a bigger space:
