by isleofman.com 2nd September 2009

Police have named the motorcyclist killed in an accident in Kirk Michael yesterday evening.

He was 53-year-old Jake Drake-Brockman from Bristol.

At around twenty-to-six he collided with a green converted ambulance on the Kirk Michael to Ballaugh road, at the North Orrisdale loop junction.

The road was closed for several hours while collision investigators carried out tests and yesterday's delayed racing, which was due to start at 6pm, had to be called off.

A police spokesman says enquiries are continuing.
