Grand Prix Update: Race Postponed

by isleofman.com 1st September 2009

Manx Grand Prix racing got underway today (Tuesday 1st September), with the first races starting at 12.15pm.

The races were due to start yesterday but heavy rain and strong winds forced the organisers to postpone.

The Newcomers A and B events kicked off the action today, running concurrently with the first Post Classic four and two stroke classes.

The Junior and Lightweight Classic events (also running concurrently) were set to follow at 2.45pm but, due to unforeseen circumstances, have been postponed until 6.30pm this evening.

The roads will be open between 5pm and 6pm, whereupon they will close for a three-lap race. The roads will then re-open no later than 9pm this evening.
