DTL opens Villa for bikers

by isleofman.com 31st August 2009

Manx Grand Prix fans and competitors are being offered some respite from today's awful weather by the Department of Tourism and Leisure.

It's arranged for the Villa Marina to be opened and is offering tea and coffee as well as shelter from the rain, in the Promenade Suite.

And MGP organisers have opened the Mike Hailwood Centre for hot drinks.

That's in addition to the showers being available at the NSC.

Conditions at the Grandstand paddock have been incredibly muddy and many bikers have criticised them and also a lack of facilities.

Here's the DTL's Chief Operating Officer Nick Black: (play audio)

Mr Black says the Villa will be open today with the arrangement being reviewed on a day-to-day basis depending on the weather.
