Measures taken after Incident at 27th Milestone

by isleofman.com 26th August 2009

An incident during Tuesday night's Manx Grand Prix practice, and a landslip, led to today's Mountain Road closure.

The Department of Transport has confirmed they are relocating a marshals shelter at the 27th Milestone after a bike left the road and hit it during the session.

Rider Simon Perkin was airlifted to hospital from the scene and a marshal - Hugh Evans - was seen by a Doctor before being given the OK.

The Mountain Road is due to re-open at two o'clock.
