James Gets Ready to Take the Plunge

by isleofman.com 25th August 2009

James Quayle is certainly going to need a head for heights!

The teenager (pictured left) has just landed himself the chance to experience the UK’s highest bridge bungee, thanks to the Isle of Man Children’s Centre.

James of Fort Anne Road, Douglas scooped the prize leap opportunity at the recent Royal Manx Show when the IOMCC laid on the Island’s 160 feet record high charity bungee jump.

He’s now faced with the prospect of plunging head first off the Transporter Bridge in Middlesborough – 200 feet above the water below.

Mark Eastham, the IOMCC’s Fundraising Coordinator (pictured handing James his prize), said, “He’s a brave lad but it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and we’re delighted to have given James the chance to do this.

James commented, “I’ll probably have a few butterflies when I’m about to jump, but I can’t wait to do it.”
