More CCTV needed says Onchan MHK

An Onchan MHK says he'd like to see more CCTV cameras on the Island.

David Quirk believes it's an effective way of tackling crime and is a useful source of evidence if certain incidents end up in court.

His comments came on Talking Heads on Manx Radio today after news a report from Scotland Yard had questioned the effectiveness of CCTV, particularly in helping bring prosecutions.

Mr Quirk told John Hines it had worked well in Onchan and he believes it's something which should be invested in further: (play attached clip)
