Increased coverage for TT 2009

The Isle of Man's profile has received a huge boost after an increase in the number of people who tuned in to watch coverage of this year's TT races.

The event topped the ITV 4 viewing figures during race week with the Pokerstars Senior TT on June 12.

The average viewing figures were 462,000 with a peak of just over 500,000.

Overall, there was an increase of around 2,500 visitors coming to the Island for the TT fortnight compared with the previous year.

Globally, the TV coverage received an advertising value of nearly ?5 million - ?406,000 was in the UK.

North One Television was responsible for this year's filming of the TT festival.
