'The Wave' could cause political splash

by isleofman.com 24th August 2009

Plans for a new leisure complex on the former Summerland site in Douglas are due to move forward when Tynwald resumes in October.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure says its talks with developers the Sefton Group are 'on course'.

Proposals for a complex to be called 'The Wave' are being drawn-up for the Council of Ministers and if they pass that hurdle, will go to Tynwald in the autumn.

Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle says things look positive at the moment.
